Project Brief: Representing Space
My project uses handcrafted models and digital media to
represent differing aspects of different spaces. When utilised together,
physical and digital mediums have the potential to create a portrayal of a
built environment in its entirety. For example, By utilising a hand-crafted
model, we can observe how sunlight affects our built space, and therefore
informs the form and overall function of the environment. However, a digital
replica of the lighting model can provide opportunities to place the built space
within a clearly defined context. When these two models are used in
conjunction, they create a highly detailed expression of the represented space,
and therefore solidifies the need for both digital and physical models as
communicative tools.
